Site Maps Made Easy

Welcome.   I had to put the 10K challenge on  hold for now, however, I am still learning a lot about SEO (search engine optimization).  Just to give you some reassurance, the 10K challenge is not a bad program.   I am reserving my conversation about the 10K challenge for another day.

Today's focus is site-maps.  If you do not have one, today is your lucky day.  I spent a good part of the afternoon the other day trying to determine how to build one for Google's "Blogger".  Old adage:  If at first you don't succeed try try again! When I set out to do something it truly bothers me if I cannot find a solution so I kept on until I found it!

Are site maps beneficial?  From what I have witnessed on my fitness blog, I am going to make a "temporary" decision and say yes they help.  I have noticed an increase in traffic the day that I added the site map.  Being, that I have only had one for a couple of days, I cannot make a permanent decision yet.  However, all of the information that I have found, points in the direction of yes - one should create a SITE-MAP.  Basically, a site map helps search engines find you!  Read more about site maps here

Here in lies the issue, a site-map must be added to a web-site's root directory.  If you do not have access to the root directory you will become frustrated trying to find an alternative.  Look no further.  After many attempts, I found this source that has been the most relevant and valid for individuals with Blogger.  Follow the directions step by step and it truly works.

Two other great sites that helps build a site-map (for those without Blogger) are XML Site-maps and Free Site Map Generator.
